Having high-tea at the_peranakan while ingesting the Peranakan culture and heritage.
Such a unique restaurant that displays many antiques, chandeliers, kebaya and accessories, artefacts and other cultural heritage items.
The Food and Service:
🌸High Tea Set $35++ per pax🌸
The welcome drink was a cold refreshing lemongrass drink, accompanied by a cute little wet towel to clean our hands.
Then the starters (either Nyonya Mee Siam or Nyonya Dry Laksa) arrived soon after. Both taste good.
Then we had to wait forever for the Savoury to be served.
When the Savoury finally appeared, they made quite an impressive entrance, accompanied with a folk background music.
The food were good but they were not warm enough.
Then the waiting time for the Dessert began….
Desserts were okay, but the Chendol had very little chendol on it.
The food was not bad but service was so-so. Warm food would be nicer and waiting time for food definitely need to improve (especially when it was quiet at that time).
