For a speedy, comforting weekend meal, a good sauce comes in handy.
This residentnoticeboard 100% vegetarian ‘Fermented Chicken’ sauce is so versatile and delicious. Don’t be confused with the word ‘Chicken’ in it. This sauce is only used vegetarian ingredients such as fermented beancurd, ginger, etc. Originally this sauce was created in 2008 for steamed chicken, hence the name 😉.

You may use the sauce to brings out the umami flavor of your dish. Just a small amount of it can give loads of savory flavor to our dish.

Featuring here is my quick-fix meal idea: Stir-Fried Sliced Pork with Straw Mushroom and Tofu:
1. Heat up 2 tbsp of oil in a pan, then fry some garlic-ginger paste until fragrant.
2. Add some chopped shallots and continue stir fry them.
3. Add pork slices, fry until no more pink.
4. Add tofu (cubed), mushroom, and sliced big red chilies (removed seeds).
5. Pour in some water, let it boil, then add 3 tbsp of Fermented Chicken Sauce (add more if you prefer).
6. Mix 1/2 tbsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water in a small bowl.
7. Pour in the mixture to thicken the sauce.
8. Garnish with some chopped spring onions and serve with some steamed rice.
