Cooking Indonesian dish is always a challenge for me. So many herbs to use and steps to . When I was a little girl, I loved to help grinding the herbs using the pestle and mortar. The shallots always made me cry but I just loved this ‘pretend play’ as a chef.
.
Back to this current time, I sometimes still use my pestle and mortar, but most of the time I just use the electric grinder to make life easier.
.
For this collaboration, I diligently used my pestle and mortar to grind the herbs needed for my Sambal Goreng Kentang Tahu Tempe (Indonesian Spicy Potato, Tofu, Tempe Sambal) for more authentic experience 😅. This dish often served as a side dish for Yellow Rice or Nasi Campur. It can be served as a main dish too.
